I down loaded a truck load of book, all free mind you, Amazon has a ton of free books, mostly classics, but who can complain about that.  There are also many cheap books 99 cents up to the new releases that can cost $12.  But for me the free books will work for the time being, there are so many I have been wanting to read anyway.  Now with this little beauty I can take the books anywhere and not add to the already weighted purse I have.  This technology is awesome and really one of the best things to come out in a long time!  I’m loving my kindle!

This past weekend we spent the day at Daybreak, have you been there?  I’m lucky enough to have a brother who resides there in a pretty red house. We began with a bike ride to a local breakfast joint for some delish pancakes covered in gelato, yes gelato the ice cream, I mean what a way to start the day right.  With the outdoor eats and the cool architecture and sculptures it was a feast not only for our bodies but for the eyes.

Then we continued the bike ride taking a tour of the landscape; which has lakes and streams, a million unique bridges and fun uses of rock walls. Lavender grows along the paths and a board walk leads you through a sea of cat tails and marshy terrain without even getting your feet muddied.  The sun was shinning as we rode along and our puppy ran next to us, getting all worn out for the day (excellent!), stopping at one of the many parks to play on the rocks and water, and lay in the soft grass as the breeze brushed.  I think I sound like an advertisement, but yep it’s pretty much the reality of the place.  The homes in daybreak come in every color and I could and probably will at some point, devote an entire post to the different colors of homes that can be seen in the area; turquoise, purple, orange, red, blue, purple, green, grey, and yellow.  I mean really it’s like a 1950′s style neighborhood I can just see the aproned women, and block parties with everyone sitting on there porches and that is pretty much how you can describe Daybreak.  So if your up in the South Jordan area, take a minute and wander around, there a surprises everywhere.  We loved our Day in Daybreak.

Weekend Update tomorrow!

When we tell someone the time we use phrases like “half past” or “quarter too” or nearly nine”.

Well this lovely sight tells you the time in exactly that eloquent way.  It distinguished the AM or PM by the color of the background, being black or white.  I think it’s so creative I mean amazing that someone even came up with this idea and put it online, people amaze me with the different ways to use their creativity.  And this is one such sight, so go there and check out this eloquent time!  Makes me want to ask if you have any gray poupon, I mean it’s so sophisticated!  (ok I’m reaching, but you totally remember those commercials, right?)

Here is our puppy, Paxton that we adopted from the Northern Utah Valley Animal Shelter (NUVAS).  He is the kind of dog we have been eyeing for a while and considering his breed goes for $600+ he was a steal!  Our little whippet didn’t even touch that in price.  He’s 3 1/2 months old and a ball of energy.  My Mr. has started a whippet blog here if you want to know all the dets of this overwhelming and fun experience.  I’m still getting use to the idea of having a dog, but it’s pretty much my reality.  Check the photos and the video of our amazing little guy.
