The light in our house is amazing! In our cute, old place the light wasn’t as natural as we would have liked. In the new place there is lots of light we don’t even turn the lights on until the evening, even on a cloudy day! Well I wanted to have a piece of art that enhanced this amazing light. While looking online for ideas I came across this, and thought it would be perfect. But as most of you know I go big or go home. Well even on this project I wish I would have gone smaller but what do you do! I found a chipped mirror on Craigslist for free and when it gave the
dimension I guess I didn’t fully understand when it said 60 inches x 60 inches. Inches to me
is small but when you convert those inches to feet well I think you all figured it out when I gave you the original inch measurements! This mirror is huge! But I was thinking “great it’s big and it’s free”, what I should have said is “it’s huge and heavy and free!” So yes I bit off a bit more than I could chew, but I got to it and broke the mirror which was a scary experience. I mean who likes the sound of shattering glass? Breaking all the glass took 2 days, 2days of constant hammering on glass, that was what I did! Then came the 3rd & 4th days of placing and gluing process which was long, exhausting and tedious! But in the end the over 100 lbs project was done and hung never to be done again! Even My Mr. said NEVER AGAIN, I guess I get a little crazy when I do project of this magnitude! I put my own spin on the mirror and I love the way it came out! It is a beautiful addition to our light loving house!!
