Key’ed Up

Ok so I love my purse it’s big enough to fit all the crazy things I want in it.  But along with that come me loosing everything I put into it; key’s being the worst culprit.  So I decided enough!  And came up with this solution!  I keep a carabiner on my key, always have for some reason.  This is great for clipping it to the outside of my bag the the jingling can make me a little nuts.  So I added a nylon tab with a key ring inside. Found a seam of my bag and placed it there seeing if it would work.  Most purses have a loose lining that you can pull out and easily sew on.  So I found the seam I wanted to use and then using a zig-zag stitch and some invisible tread (my favorite kind) I sewed the nylon tab to the seam.  You could unpick the seam and insert it if you want to give it a finished edge to it but sewing it directly to the seam of the lining seamed to work and look just fine.  Then tucked the lining back inside the purse and reloaded it.  The using my handy carabiner I clipped it to my new little loop ring inside!  It was perfect and I know exactly were my keys are in my purse!  If you don’t have a carabiner on your keys, why would you really, another option is to sew the tab to carabiner and have that in your bag instead.  But either option will help keep your keys in the same location every time and you won’t have to go diving through your purse with your arms full of grocery bags that weigh a million pounds, not that I have ever had that happen before!
